Many people have asked us: “If I am currently accepting credit and debit cards online with Authorize.net but I do not like my credit card processor can I switch?”
There are two ways that you can switch. The first is to have your new processor establish you a new authorize.net account. You get a new login name and the new account will not retain your settings or transaction history.
The second way that you can switch is to provide your processor with your Auth.net ID, which can be found by clicking on “Account” and then “Merchant Profile” after logging into Authorize.net. The processor then contacts Auth.net and tells them your new settings. The processor then will ask you to contact Auth.net and verify the switch. Auth.net will ask you a few questions and complete the switch. You will continue to have access to your transaction history and you can continue to use your old login name and settings.
The second option is better, but in either case it’s quite simple, and if anything goes wrong with the new processor you can switch back to the old one with simply a phone call to Auth.net.
